Go Go Go!

03/09/10 14 hours, 2 trains, over 100 tunnels, 1800m ascent, 2 numb bums and lots of Chai Chai Chai Chai Chai Chai Chai Chai Chai...

"Travelling second class unreserved is terribly over crowded."

Leaving Delhi on the Himalayan Queen in the rain.

Changed at Kalka to the narrow gauge train up into the hills.  Very close quarters, but we met some great people.

Had fun with a really nice family and their little boy Jera (?).  The battery ran out in his camera so insisted on using ours.  We met loads of people on the journey, everyone is super nice and chatty and shares food (that we are occasionally scared to eat sometimes!)

  1. You were really lucky on your train from Delhi to Kalka - ours was packed - especially the return - and theat was ~First class. Did you get food.
Hope you enjoyed your climb up to Shimla. Did it take 7 hours? Lovely to meet new people. Looks very misty.
