Jodphur - The Blue City

12/09/10  We feel that Jodphur really sums up India, small winding streets, crazy bazaars, lots of noise and mental rickshaws. Lot's of fun, we like :)

Views from our caravan sized room on the roof.  Kids love the rain. Can you spot the monkeys?

Flower offerings for morning prayer

We meet a lot of people trying to be famous for something.  This is the Omelette man who's been going through 1000 eggs a day for the last 30 years?! Respect.

Monsoon hasn't finished yet!  Got stranded for a while when we gave up wading through over flowing drains.  Rescued by a rickshaw dude taking kids home from school. Thanks man :)

*think battles with swords and elephants smashing up castles with their heads!

  1. Jodphur looks great; the monsoon must have been an interesting experience. Did you try the omelettes or chilli bites? Do they give any reason for the blue colour. The pink in Jaipur was for the visit of the Prince of Wales and pink was chosen as at the time the British empire was depicted in pink on the Map!
